Finishing Seminar (8 hours)

This course that will demonstrate the techniques of finishing a guitar from preparation to final buffing. The first Saturday will be a discussion of the different kinds of media and the advantages and disadvantages of each. While the class will be centered around the use of KTM-9 waterborne finish, the techniques of this finish can easily be transferred to any type. I will be demonstrating the prep work and the filling of the grain in open pored woods, as well as the spraying of initial coats.  The next Saturday will be leveling, polishing and trouble shooting the coated surface. Samples prepared the week before will be used by the students for first hand experience.

Cost: $300

Inlay Seminar (4 Hours)

This class will demonstrate the process of taking an inlay
from layout to completion. Tools and materials will be
discussed as well as elements of design and execution. Several personal examples will be shown as well as several world class inlay artists.

Cost: $150

Set Up Seminar (4 Hours)

Setting up a guitar is more than just changing string height
and cranking on the truss rod. This 4 hour hands on seminar
will give you the knowledge to successfully set up an
acoustic or electric guitar. You’ll find out just what a truss
rod does and doesn’t do. How to intonate
properly. Troubleshooting buzzes. What to do if you detect
a loose fret. What is relief? Bring your own guitar to the class.

Cost: $150
